How to turn on the water heater

Frequent interruptions in the work of public utilities force users to think about the need to provide their own homes with autonomous utility networks. Instructions for starting the boiler for the first time

The purchase of heating equipment requires qualified installation and connection to all networks in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer recommendations. If the user has the skills to carry out plumbing and electrical installation work, then he makes the connection independently, after studying the instructions.

IMPORTANT! The grounding connection is made in accordance with electrical safety requirements. Such a contact cannot be connected to a battery or neutral wire, as “traditional craftsmen” often do. If the household is not equipped with proper grounding, then it must be done. Proper connection affects user safety.

To heat water, manufacturers offer modifications of different capacities and power. When consuming more than 3 kW, the boiler is equipped with a dedicated power supply line with an automatic connection for the corresponding power.

Sequencing

Regardless of who installed the boiler, the first start-up is carried out as follows:

1. It is necessary to check all pipe connections for leaks, and electrical wiring connections for tight connections.
2. Turn off the apartment's hot supply tap so as not to heat the water in the entire riser. Then open the valve on any of the household's hot water taps to drain the pipes.
3. When installing the water heater correctly, the taps on the connected pipe connections are left closed. When the water from the hot water supply system is drained and the valve is opened, you must first open the “cold” tap, and then the “hot” one.
4. Filling the heater tank will be accompanied by the sound of air escaping from an open hot water tap. Then a stream of water with air bubbles will appear. After waiting for a uniform flow of water, the valve is closed.
5. After filling the water heater, you must turn it on. Using a machine or a plug with a socket, connect the boiler and set the desired water heating temperature.

ATTENTION! Premature closing of the hot water tap when filling the boiler entails unstable operation of the heater due to the presence of air inside the container!

Depending on the power and capacity of the heater, after 30 minutes. or 2 hours, hot water will be ready.

Heating mode selection

Temperature adjustment can be made in the range from 30 to 80, and for some manufacturers - up to 90 degrees. In order to save electricity, the consumer often tries to use a boiler to heat water to 35-40 degrees. This will actually allow you to use less electricity.But at this temperature, harmful bacteria will begin to form inside the container and hydrogen sulfide will be released when using heated water. An indicator of this effect will be the presence of an unpleasant odor, which will appear in the first month of operation.

To avoid the growth of bacteria, water must be heated to a temperature of 55-60 degrees. And comfortable use can be adjusted using a mixer. This level of heating will avoid the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms and will protect the heating element from scale formation.

ATTENTION. High temperature heating mode up to 80-90 degrees. It is recommended to turn it on regularly to kill bacteria once a month or two weeks. To do this, set the regulator to maximum for 2-3 hours. Then the water heater is transferred to the usual operating mode.

Turning off the boiler at night in order to save money is not always effective. Users often resort to this method of operation, but at the same time they receive cold water in the morning.

The longevity of a water heater depends largely on how it is used. The published information will allow you to comfortably use hot water over a long period of time.
