What is a miter saw used for?
Trimming or cross cutting is available on several installations, but this one is still considered highly accurate and competent type of saw. With its help, long parts are processed: platbands, baseboards, moldings, fillets and others.
Some craftsmen prefer to call it an “electric miter box.”
For those who have ever fastened and connected baseboards or moldings, they know that this is an extremely difficult task. The cut should be exactly 45 degrees - smooth, without notches or deviations. And if the structure of the structure is complex, then this is much more difficult to do.
If there are defects during cutting, unsightly gaps form in the joints. In the future, they have to be covered with putty or painted over. With a miter saw, such mistakes will not happen. It is not necessary to buy an expensive professional model.
Why do you need a miter saw?
The tool is installed as a stationary device and solves the following problems:
- carefully, accurately and quickly separates workpieces made of plastic, wood and composite materials at an angle from 90 to 30 degrees;
- work with decorative elements, make beautiful cuts;
- cut long parts at angles from 90 to 45 degrees in the vertical direction;
- select corner grooves;
You can also choose straight grooves by adding a chisel or renovator to the device. The tool is very popular among carpenters, remodelers, finishers, builders, furniture and door assemblers, as well as in framing workshops.
At its core, a miter saw is no different from a conventional chain tool. However, its cuts are much more accurate and neat, even and at the correct width. Once you try it, you will never go back to hand tools.
