Remote printing to a printer via the Internet
Remote printing via the Internet can be done using one of the methods of sending a file to a PC connected to the printer - via instant messenger, cloud. Naturally, this method is for isolated cases, and for permanent work in a large company this cannot be put on stream.

Connecting a printer to a remote desktop
In order for the device to be accessible to those who use the local network, it must first be configured. To do this, you need to add all PCs for which access is required to the appropriate group.
Connection steps:
- make sure that the printing equipment connected to the host computer is working: why do you need to print a test page;
- configure shared access on computers included in the group, then specify the name of the equipment;
- remove the password that protects access and save.
Reference! After the manipulations have been carried out, the specified device will appear on all computers included in the group.
Setting up remote printer access
Before establishing a connection to a remote PC, you need to make settings. Then, when connected to a computer, the printer will be able to print files located on the remote PC.
All specified data is saved so that it does not need to be changed during a subsequent connection:
- Go to the “Connect to a remote computer” menu.
- Click "Options" and go to "Local Devices".
- Check the "Printers" box.
- To get started, click “Connect”.
- Afterwards, you need to make sure that when you transfer it to the “Print” menu, the selected device is located.
How to print to a printer via the Internet
To be able to print files on remote equipment located anywhere, Google has developed an option - “Google Virtual Printer”.
Adding a Printer
To start working with this service, you first need to connect equipment to your Google account that is connected to laptops running Chromebook, Windows, or Mac OS. On your device, you need to open Chrome and sign in to your Google account.
Then you need to go to the settings, which are located in the browser. Here in the search engine we find “Google Cloud Print”. Click “Configure”. Now click “Add equipment”.
A list of devices that are designated as hardware in the OS will open. In unnecessary devices, you need to uncheck the boxes and leave only the required equipment. To ensure that in the future all devices connected to the main PC are automatically linked to this account and can be used for remote access, you need to check the box for automatically connecting printers. Then click “Add equipment”.
Then go to the “Manage Printers” menu. Through this menu we go to your Google account. After this, it will be possible to log into it by entering the name of the service in a search engine or by clicking on the account button on its page. A working printer has been added.
Remote printing
On Mac laptops, only web pages that have the “Print” function are sent for printing.At the same time, with Windows you can remotely print from a web page in a browser window, even separately located files that are opened by Windows.
Support for a remote device in the operating system is provided by software. The application is free and is located on the website of the same resource. On your service page, you need to go to the “Applications” menu, after which you will need to find Windows devices in the list of devices and download the application through the link.
The software is installed on the system like any regular application. The application supports all versions of Windows.
For all Windows devices, there is a requirement to install authorized Chrome. You need to log in from the account that is connected to the equipment.
Then we do the same as during normal sending of a page for printing: the document is opened in the required application and simply printed. You need to make sure that the parameters indicate exactly the remote equipment.
When the file is sent, the Chrome tab automatically opens, in which you need to specify the required remote hardware.
Attention! Before sending a file for printing, the parameters that the service offers are applied to it - set color or monochrome printing, paper format, number of copies.
Setting up equipment over the network is very simple and does not take much time. The most important thing is to configure the devices correctly by finding the required software and allowing access to the required hardware. There are no big differences regarding installation in different versions of Windows.
