The printer prints every line

The printer prints every lineThe main reason why a printer prints across a line, as a rule, is a cartridge where parts are worn out, the ink has run out, or the refill has not been carried out correctly. Sometimes it is necessary to repair the printing device or simply need to take preventive measures.

Why does the printer print every line?

Prevention is different for inkjet and laser equipment.

For laser printer

Gaps on the sheet usually indicate that toner is low. You need to add it (at the same time check the other parts responsible for printing). But if you need to print something urgently, then take out the cartridge and gently shake it.

But this will only help you print 30-60 pages.

In this case there are more reasons:

  • the head nozzles are clogged;
  • the cartridge runs out;
  • serious head malfunction;
  • The cable connected to the head is broken.

Attention! Most often the cartridge runs out. The ink level is usually visible in the device control dialog menu.

How to determine the cause

You need to blame the ink if the device suddenly starts skipping lines.Other reasons are possible: the cartridge was recently refilled and a malfunction occurred (for example, a sheet jammed and was suddenly pulled out) or something happened directly to the printing device (the printer was in the cold for some time, it was dropped or turned over).

Determine ink level:

  1. In the printer management section, select the “Maintenance” menu. Enable ink quantity check.
  2. Visually determine the ink level.

Reference! In refillable cartridges, the actual amount of ink sometimes does not coincide with the counter data, so it is best to remove the cartridge and visually determine the ink level.

How to fix the problem

Ways to solve the problem:

  1. Insufficient sealing of the cartridge. As a rule, this happens after it is refueled. To check the seal, you need to remove the cartridge from the device and rub it over a white piece of paper. If ink appears on it, the seal is broken. You need to contact a repair shop.
  2. The toner is running low. In this case, the printer may not print lines. If this problem occurs, the cartridge simply needs to be refilled.
  3. The ink waste hopper is full. There is only one solution - clean the bunker. This procedure must also be performed all the time after refilling the cartridge.
  4. Encoder contamination. The encoder is a translucent marked film that is located along the carriage. To remove dirt, you need to open the housing cover and carefully clean the encoder with a lint-free cloth soaked in a cleaning solution. You need to give it time to dry and the device can be used.
  5. The magnetic shaft is deformed or there is a foreign object on it.If the printer prints through a line, this may indicate that there is a foreign object on the shaft (a paper clip, a piece of paper, tape). To correct this problem, you need to remove the foreign body. If the magnetic shaft is deformed, it must be replaced.
  6. Photodrum wear. This requires replacement of the part, since the photosensitive layer of the drum wears out over time.
  7. The toner dispenser blade is not secured. In some cases, gaps in printing occur due to an improperly secured blade. It needs to be inspected and fixed if necessary.
  8. The contact between the magnetic shaft and the drum is broken. To do this, you will need to clean the shaft contacts and other elements. If the result does not give the desired effect, then the elements need to be replaced with new ones.

Printer

The problem with missing lines is solved very simply. But if after all the manipulations the device continues to print, this is probably a disease of a particular printer. In this case, it must be taken to a repair shop.
