Young Israeli scientists from the Zuta laboratory at the Jerusalem Technical University have developed an unusual device. This is a small, portable inkjet printer that can easily fit in the palm of your hand. Its dimensions are truly amazing: height – 10 cm, diameter – 11.5 cm, with a weight of about 300 grams. It is made of high quality polycarbonate.

From the outside, the gadget looks like a tiny box. In a matter of weeks, the project raised tens of thousands of dollars on the crowdfunding platform for its subsequent implementation. The device is released in two colors: black and white.

How the device works

Of interest is not only the dimensions of the printer, but also its mechanism. The designers thought through the design of the device’s body so that it would be convenient to attach it to the beginning of the sheet and start printing. For this purpose, one of the edges of the device is made sharp. At the bottom there are two wheels, with the help of which the gadget itself accurately moves along a flat sheet of paper. The print head with ink is also located there, which is activated after switching the shutter that protects the inside of the printer.

It is important that the device is equipped with sensors for stabilization and is capable of working with any paper format. At the same time, the quality and clarity of the printed text does not suffer, no worse than that of office counterparts.

The innovative gadget's printing speed is 1.2 pages of text per minute, and its resolution is 96*192 pixels per inch.The device is powered by a lithium battery, providing about an hour of continuous printing. Charging takes approximately 3 hours. One cartridge provides printing of 1000 pages.
