How to view a printer's print queue
The principle of using the printer is described in detail in the instructions and should not cause difficulties, but sometimes users have problems. One of these is the freezing of the program and the state of the print queue. In order to properly restore operation, it is necessary to perform certain manipulations. We will tell you more about this later.

View the print queue
First, it’s worth understanding what a print queue is and where you can view it on a computer running Windows. As the name implies, this option allows you to view the list of documents launched and sent for printing, as well as adjust the printing sequence. In order to find the appropriate menu and make adjustments, you must perform the following steps:
- Connect the computer and printer to the network, make sure that the software and drivers are available when connected.
- Go to the main menu of the system by pressing the start key or the corresponding button on the keyboard.
- After this, you can use the search bar and enter the name of the required section “Printers and Scanners” or follow the path to the device. For the second option, you will need to go to the “Control Panel”, then to “Devices and Printers”.
- From the proposed options, select the “Printer” tab, find the name of your equipment model.
- Select the required item from this category and click on it. From the proposed list of actions, click on the “View print queue” function.
In some operating systems, the path to the specified action may differ slightly from that described above (it may have a different name or be located in a different section of the menu and options). It is worth considering the features of the printer when using it. Check the information in advance with consultants or on the company’s official page.
IMPORTANT! Sometimes there may not be a problem. On some models, the process of downloading and preparing the file for printing takes some time. Wait a few seconds before you begin troubleshooting.
How to clear the print queue
If the queue was not filled correctly, or you need to quickly shut down and cancel the queue, you should use the following algorithm:
- Follow all the steps described above in order.
- Next, select “Clear print queue”.
- If this action does not help correct the situation, you need to go to the administration settings and stop the print manager. To do this, through the control panel, go to system and security, and then to administration.
- At this point, select “Services”. From the list that appears, right-click on the manager and select the “Stop” action.
- After this, restart your computer, turn on the printer again, and try to print the document. Everything should work properly.
Typically, the proposed method is suitable for all types of operating systems. If the problem cannot be solved, you may have to contact a service center or call a technician.
IMPORTANT! Keep the warranty card and do not repair or disassemble the device yourself.
Reasons for Print Failure or Delay
In some cases, the cause of the failure can be determined and eliminated independently. Check the equipment for the following points:
- No connection to the power source, or incorrect connection to the computer.
- A different printer is set in the print output settings.
- Problems with paper jams, lack of ink for printing.
- Software failure or system overload during prolonged operation.
- The driver is missing or an old version is installed.
You can fix all this yourself; for more serious problems, you should contact a specialist.
