How to cancel duplex printing on your printer
Double-sided printing or duplex is a method in which information is reflected on paper on both sides without your help. This technology will save you from manually turning over documents. Sometimes this saves a lot of time, because the output is a printed sheet on both sides. The advantages of duplex are working with large volumes, when manual paper feeding is extremely inconvenient and requires your constant presence. But if you use the printer for domestic purposes, or the bulk of the printed information is needed in a one-sided format, then the “duplex” function is extremely inconvenient.

Cancel duplex printing: methods
Let's say most electronic material requires an image on one side, while your printer is automatically set to print on both sides. It seems like nothing bad, but, firstly, time is wasted on the empty run of the second side, plus the frequent jamming of paper of higher density.
Many MFP users encounter a problem when, when trying to print several pages of an electronic document, the printer willfully produces text on both sides.
In this case, there are several ways to cancel duplex printing:
- Using the Windows operating system, go to the “Control Panel” and select the “Devices and Printers” icon. In the dialog box that opens, find the brand of your printer and right-click to open the context menu. Next, in the “Print” tab, click and uncheck the “Double-sided printing” checkbox, complete the operation with the “OK” confirmation at the bottom of the window, and celebrate the victory. All further information will be in one-way format by default.
- The second option is related to the printer settings, when the default “Print” profile is printing on both sides. To do this, in “Printer Properties” select the “Profile” tab. Expand “Default Settings” for manual adjustments. In the “View Settings” dialog box that appears, change the “Print Style”. Uncheck the default double-sided box and confirm the changes with the OK button. It is done.
Attention! To prevent possible reset of the settings, print with the required characteristics and save the settings. Go to “Printer Settings”, select “Presets” and click “Save current settings as presets”. Give the preset a title such as “One Page” and proceed directly to printing.
Cancel duplex printing depending on Windows
Programmers work tirelessly to create operating systems that can make using a PC easier and more comfortable for any user. For our convenience, the “Print” option in new versions of Windows does not undergo global changes.
Therefore, the above cancellation algorithm is relevant for Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10.
Open the “Control Panel”, click “Devices and Printers”, select your printer model, launch the context menu and uncheck the “Double-sided printing” box. Save the changes made.
What to do if printing on both sides is not canceled
All tips for canceling have been completed, and saving the settings is only enough until you restart the printer or turn off the computer. Regardless of the “Control Panel” and Printer settings, it feeds the sheet on both sides.
In such a situation, it is advisable to perform a factory reset. In the menu, select the “Copier” tab, then “Functions” and clear the standard settings “Clear All”. We reboot the system and forget about the problem forever.
Or try downloading drivers of a different version online. Typically, older modifications do not conflict with the specified parameters.
