There is no image on the tablet, but there is sound

If suddenly your tablet malfunctions and does not show video, although there is sound, then the problems may be with the monitor itself, or with the presence or absence of certain programs and applications. Let's sort it out in order.

Why is there no image on the tablet, but there is sound?

If the tablet makes all the usual system sounds when turned on, but the screen does not light up, there may be several reasons for this:

• matrix malfunction;
• cracked screen;
• problems with the touch screen cable;
• problems with the video adapter.

In the first two cases, you will have to take the tablet to the service center. You can try to insert the cable into the connector yourself, but you need to do it very carefully.

To check the health of the video adapter, you need to connect the tablet to any external screen via the video input. If there is no image on it, then the problem is in the video adapter. If this screen shows a picture, the reason is different - in the matrix or hardware failure.

What can you do yourself if there is no image on the tablet?

If the tablet works, but for some reason has stopped showing videos from the gallery or when viewing online, then the reason for this may be:

• or display modifications;
• or overlay.

The first problem occurs when the user has changed the color temperature settings (F.lux, Twilight) or enabled built-in functions in the display settings (for example, Live Display in CyanogenMod), and also dabbled with color correction, color inversion, or high-contrast colors. In this case, you should either remove applications or disable these functions. Perhaps a video will appear after this.

Some overlays may also cause image loss. These include application blockers (such as CM Locker) or design applications - sometimes they add controls on top of the main interface and even a parental control function. In this case, you need to try deleting application data.

Attention! You can make sure that one of the applications is the cause of the black screen by booting the device in safe mode. If the video shows in this mode without problems, then you need to find the problematic application and remove it.

Not all problems can be dealt with at home, but some problems can still be fixed on your own:

1. Battery disconnection. Removing the battery will reboot the system, which in some cases will be enough.
2. Reset to factory settings. If the first does not help, you can roll back the tablet settings to factory settings. Most models have a Reset button. How to use it is written in the instruction manual. If there is no reset button, you need to press the power and volume up buttons at the same time. In the engineering menu on the screen, select the “Format system” item. It is best to reset the settings by first removing the memory card and SIM card.
3. Flashing.If the second method did not help, then it is worth reflashing it - the most difficult of the methods. It is the most effective, but only an experienced user can do it. For the rest, it is better to turn to specialists for this purpose. Please note that incorrect flashing can lead to irreversible consequences.

Important! When you roll back to factory settings or flash the firmware, all games, photos, and music saved on the device will be deleted.

As you can see, there can be several reasons for a black screen on a tablet. If your device is under warranty, then you should not try to fix it yourself at all - all problems associated with malfunctions are best resolved at a service center.
