Is it possible to keep a laptop on your lap?
A laptop is an integral part of the life of any modern person, with the help of which we watch movies, read, study and, of course, work. It is assumed that when using such an electronic assistant, the user will sit at a table, at a certain distance from the gadget, but how many people follow this rule? Those who spend several hours a day at a laptop computer often move to the bed with it, lay it on their knees, and continue to work in this position. But did you know how dangerous it can be?

Is it harmful to keep a laptop on your lap?
Harm from such use exists both for the man or woman and for the device itself:
- Problems with posture. During such a position, the posture will not a priori be in an even position, therefore, after a long time of working in such a position, back problems will not take long to appear.
- Irradiation. The radiation that comes from a laptop thanks to the WI-FI antenna has a negative effect on the human body, especially if these are small children, and the closer it is to the body, the stronger the impact.
- Strict restrictions for pregnant women. Doctors not only forbid pregnant girls from keeping a laptop on their laps, but also limit the total time they use it so as not to harm the weakened body.
- Laptop computer failure. There is a possibility of accidentally bumping the laptop or hitting it with some object. Also, when working in this position with food or drinks, you can often get liquid on the keyboard and sensitive openings, which will lead to serious problems.
- Overheat. When placed on your lap, the device does not receive sufficient ventilation to dissipate heat, thus hot air accumulates inside, which over time leads to serious damage and burnout of certain parts.
Harm to women's and men's health
Such work with a laptop poses the greatest danger to men’s health, affecting the ability to have children. The fact is that in this position, due to the heating of the laptop computer, the scrotum overheats, which affects sperm productivity. Heating the genitals even by one degree has negative consequences - testicular function deteriorates by 40%. Studies have shown that during an hour of using the device in the “kneeling” position, the scrotum warmed up by 2.5 degrees. Therefore, to protect yourself, you must work on a laptop strictly at a desk.
For women, there is no obvious harm or prohibition, the only exception being pregnancy, in which pressure on the abdomen can harm the fetus. Plus radiation that causes harm to any organism, especially in contact with the body.
It is clear that working at a laptop computer in such a position is very convenient and sometimes the only way out of the situation, especially when there is no convenient table in the room, or you go to the park to work. But having studied all the negative consequences, there is only one conclusion: working on a laptop while holding it on your lap must be kept to a minimum.
