The speaker does not connect via Bluetooth to the laptop

Bluetooth speaker and laptop.Surround sound enthusiasts are constantly trying to improve their home playback systems. This is understandable - it’s more pleasant to watch your favorite movie on a laptop with high-quality sound. Any external sound production device, for example, a wireless speaker, can easily cope with this purpose. The only thing left to do is how to connect it to a computer?

How to connect a Bluetooth speaker to a laptop

First, you should make sure whether your laptop has a Bluetooth module. It's very easy to do this:

  1. On the keyboard you need to press “Win” and “R” at the same time.
  2. In the Run window, type the command “devmgmt.msc” and press the “OK” key to open the “Device Manager”.We determine the presence of a Bluetooth module in the laptop.

If there is no “Bluetooth” section in the list, you need to open the “View” menu at the top of the window and check the box next to “Show hidden devices.” After this, the device will probably appear.

After we have found out that working with bluetooth is possible, turn it on. To do this, open the side panel (on Windows 8 and 10), which is located in the lower right corner, where by clicking we activate Bluetooth. If you are working in Windows 7, then on the bottom toolbar open the “curtain” (“check mark” on the right next to the date and time), find the Bluetooth icon, among others, right-click on it and turn it on. Of course, this tray icon may not be present.In such a situation, go to the “Control Panel”, and then open the “Network and Sharing Center”. At the bottom left there is an item “Change adapter settings” - open it. Further:

  • Right-click on “Bluetooth network connection” and select “Properties”;
  • In the window that opens, click “Bluetooth” and turn on the network using the switch of the same name.

So, everything is ready: wireless data transmission is active on your laptop, all that remains is to pair it with the speaker.

Turn on the speaker itself and Bluetooth on it (either there should be a button with a wireless module icon, or you need to hold down the on/off button and hold it for a while). When Bluetooth is activated, the indicator on the device will blink.

Now all setup will take place on the laptop. In the system tray (“curtain” in the lower right corner) find the desired icon, right-click on it and select “Add device” from the list. After the module finds the column, we establish a connection. You can do it using another algorithm:

  • open “Settings” (gear icon in “Start”);
  • open the “Devices” tab and select “Bluetooth and other devices” in the list on the left;
  • if the desired name is not in the lists, then click on “+” at the top;
  • We wait until the search is completed, select the column name and connect.Connecting the speaker via Bluetooth.

Why doesn't the laptop see the Bluetooth speaker?

What to do if everything is connected, but the device continues to remain invisible? Let's figure it out.

Most likely the issue is outdated drivers. The fix is very easy:

  • you need to open the “Device Manager” (at the beginning of the article we talked about how this can be done);
  • go to the “Bluetooth” section;
  • check if there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to the name of the installed module - if there is one, then we begin to update;
  • From the official support site for your laptop, download the latest version of the required driver and install it.We update the driver.

After this, the problem should disappear.

Important! Sometimes there are cases when a device is successfully connected, but still does not work. In such situations, it is necessary to download drivers not for the wireless network adapter, but for the speaker itself.

If the problem is not in the drivers, then it’s worth checking one more nuance. In Settings, when setting up a connection, check the boxes for “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer” and “Display the Bluetooth icon in the notification area.” Users of version 10 of Windows need to go to “Other Bluetooth settings” (see list on the right) to do this.

Ready! Now your laptop will find devices within the access area and will be able to connect to them without any problems.

Comments and feedback:

The article is for blondes, it doesn’t solve the problem.

None of the above helped.

Helped me:
1) enable bluetooth on the laptop
2) open control panel - devices and printers
3) enable pairing mode on the speaker (the bluetooth icon will blink blue on the jbl)
4) on the laptop select - Add a device (Start - control panel - devices and printers - add device)
And now the column appears in this list, we add it accordingly, and now it appears in bluetooth devices

Or click on the bluetooth icon on the taskbar - Join personal network (PAN) - Add a device
And now a column has appeared in this list.
