How to adjust monitor contrast
Setup requires Windows software. Most users use this operating system. Brightness can be adjusted using several calibration methods. You can use only one method, or several at the same time. The main thing is to achieve the necessary results.
Setting methods
There are several ways to configure this feature. They depend on the type of monitor. The methods are as follows:
- Via the corresponding button. The monitor has buttons that allow you to adjust brightness and other important parameters. They are located on the back or bottom of the device. There are symbols for all parameters.
- On-screen menu. There are monitors that allow you to configure this setting using a menu. It will open if you click the Start button. There are already set parameters that you can change at your discretion. This option is present on every laptop.
- Laptop screen. In older models of the device, there were corresponding buttons on the back panel (as in the first step). But in modern devices there are no elements responsible for setting this parameter. The only way is to use the Fn key. We will be presented with icons that, by clicking on them, will increase or decrease the contrast.
- Through the appropriate program. There are programs that allow you to change such parameters. Such utilities are designed to be configured at a professional level. You can download them on the Internet. We will be presented with sliders that will allow us to change the contrast to the required value. To use the program correctly, you need to start from high-quality photography.
What should the contrast be?
The contrast should be such that a person feels comfortable viewing the image. Each device has default settings that are made depending on the requirements of the users. But each person perceives the picture differently, therefore everyone has different requirements.
The recommended image frequency of modern devices varies from 60 to 85 Hz. Contrast is necessary for the picture to be clear. But the higher this indicator, the more tired your eyes are. The optimal setting is the one that is set by default (if it is wrong, you can look in the instructions). Manufacturers suggest setting the scale value exactly in the middle. But you can change the values to make the image as comfortable as possible for the eyes.
Reference! If you work with a special program, the contrast must be adjusted so that the first cell on the scale is white and the last cell is black. Each cell must have its own shade. It is necessary to see the differences between these shades.
The perception of contrast also depends on sunlight, artificial light on the screen, and other environmental characteristics. Therefore, constantly work with the settings to select values that are comfortable in a certain situation.
