How to connect speakers to a monitor

However, they all take up precious space, which is usually never enough on a computer desk. A monitor with built-in speakers takes up much less space than with external ones. How to connect speakers to the monitor

Connecting a monitor with speakers is practically no different from connecting a conventional device.

• First, let's check whether the port from the video card output is suitable for the input port.

• The monitor connector is VGA, and for some models DVI, we connect it to the output on the video card. Exactly as if it were a device without speakers.
• We connect the sound port of the monitor to the output of the sound card using the cable that comes with it.

• If it has RCA type input jacks, then we will need two plugs of the appropriate type and a stereo headphone plug. We connect the identical contacts of the plugs to each other. We connect the main core of the RCA plug to the main core of the headphone plug.
• If the connector on the device is the same as on the sound card, then you need to take two stereo headphones and connect the same contacts to each other.

Connection

• If there is a connector on the front or side panel, you can insert an earphone into it if desired. You can connect other speakers to this jack instead of headphones. In this case, the volume can be controlled directly.
• You can also connect speakers to the screen via an HDMI connector, if available. In this case, connection, as a rule, does not cause any particular difficulties. It is enough to connect the connectors together. After this, make the appropriate settings. A high quality signal is transmitted through the HDMI interface.

Possible difficulties

As you can see from all of the above, it is, in principle, possible to connect speakers to a monitor.

The simplest option is to connect if there are speakers or headphone jacks built into the monitor.

Otherwise, it is necessary to resort to various kinds of tricks. After all, a monitor, although similar to a TV, nevertheless has a more simplified structure. And it doesn’t have its own sound.

To connect, it is advisable to choose more modern devices that have at least an HDMI connector. This greatly simplifies the task of connecting speakers. After all, such devices, as a rule, also have a headphone jack.
