I lost Bluetooth from my mouse, what should I do?

Do not rush to get upset if you have lost or broken your only Bluetooth adapter for your computer mouse. What to do? The problem can most often be solved without spending a lot of money.

Important! Don't rush to the store to buy a new mouse! The adapter for mice of the same models is programmed differently, so it will not work. The money will be wasted.

First of all, do the following:

  1. Turn the mouse over.
  2. See if there is a special icon at the bottom - an orange square with a six-pointed star inside. The required drawing is shown in the photo below.

I lost Bluetooth from my mouse, what should I do?

This is the Logitech logo indicating that the mouse will work with the Logitech Unifying Receiver. You can connect several peripheral devices to it simultaneously. This is very convenient when your laptop or computer has few USB inputs. A compact USB receiver is inexpensive, around 1000 rubles.

If this symbol is not found, then try contacting the warranty service in your city. Receivers are not sold there separately, but if some kind of malfunction or defect is detected in the device, they will issue a conclusion on the issuance of a new complete set. This method is only suitable if you have kept the receipt and the warranty period has not expired.

Will a wireless mouse work without USB?

Only if initially there was no adapter included with it at all.Find the user manual or search the Internet for information about what type of transmitter your device uses - Bluetooth (Bluetooth) or Wi-Fi. Therefore, your PC must have a built-in signal receiving module.

Note! To pair a mouse with a computer, you need a second working mouse or an active touchpad.

For a Bluetooth mouse, first make sure your PC can receive this signal. For this:

  1. Go to Device Manager.
  2. Find “Bluetooth Radio Modules” in the list, and “Bluetooth Devices” in the “Network Adapters” item.
  3. Enable signal reception by pointing to the corresponding icon. It can be activated directly in the device manager by right-clicking and selecting the “Enable” line. Another way is to press and hold the Fn key on your keyboard.
  4. Click “Add device”, find the name of the mouse in the list.

 Device Manager.

Wi-Fi is turned on in the same way.

Try, experiment and don’t despair! If all else fails, then the only thing left to do is buy a new mouse.

Comments and feedback:

At Auchan, a wireless mouse costs 220 rubles.

Why does a Bluetooth mouse need a Bluetooth adapter? MB radio mouse? If your PC does not have bluetooth, then any module will do.

I generally only use bluetooth mice, why should I occupy the USB port with this additional plug? Especially if the tablet, for example, only has one USB port, which is also used for charging. In addition, it can even be connected to a smartphone.
Of the minuses of Bluetooth mice, I would only note the high price and low assortment; sometimes it is even difficult to find them on the open market.
And now you can’t find wi-fi mice on sale at all, this experiment seems to have failed, apparently this interface is the least suitable for such devices.

Gastronomic mice (from Auchan) gnaw at my nerves.
Unifying is such a Wirelewss that no Bluetooth can reach WiFi.
Normal people carefully store and check for functionality a wired keyboard, mouse, external boot flop, CD and AKM with an ax and matches.
