Is it possible to connect speakers to the TV via tulips?
There are many different ways to connect speakers to your TV. However, the most popular of them is connection using so-called tulips. This is what people call RCA or composite connectors. This type of connection is one of the most universal and provides high-quality image and sound transmission.
Connection algorithm
The connection algorithm is quite simple. All plugs are marked with different colors. Usually it is white and red. They differ not only in color, but also in the signal that comes through the wires. As you know, to create surround stereo sound, the channels for the left and right sides are different, so the order should be observed when connecting.
In order to connect the speakers to the TV, just connect the input and the socket of the corresponding color. There are usually two types of connectors that support tulips.
- The RCA connector consists of three sockets, yellow, white and red, respectively. To connect an audio device, just connect the red and white connectors with plugs, corresponding to the colors. The yellow input is required for image transmission, but is not needed for audio transmission.
REFERENCE. Often, a TV device has a separate output for connecting additional speaker systems. It consists of two connectors, red and white, for the corresponding channels.
- Component input. This type of connector can have from three to six sockets, which can be different and have paired color marks. If the colors of the markings on the connector are different, you should pay attention to the signature at the bottom of the socket. Typically the audio output is labeled Audio L or Audio R depending on the channel.
REFERENCE. If the connection is correct, but there is no sound from the speakers, you should check the functionality of the cables on another device.
