DIY keyboard: step by step
We take a printed circuit board, it can be taken from an old device. Let's check its functionality. Testing occurs by closing the contact. Next, we check the registration of button presses. Elite Keyboards or a similar program can help with this. It highlights modifiers.
Important! Before assembly, you should consider the optimal location of the keys.
Next you need to stabilize the device; for this purpose you can use Cherry stabilizers. Then we will install the switches in the prepared plates, which we will use for fastening. After this, we insert the contacts into the board for printing. And solder everything with a soldering iron. We check whether the buttons sit well in their places, the plates in the places for fastening. If they sit too loosely, this will lead to loosening, and this will subsequently lead to overheating of the contacts.
After connecting to the PC, the device needs to be programmed. For this you need the following software:
- Any layout editor;
- Loading the button layout on the keyboard;
- Drivers.
Making a device that is convenient for you is not very difficult or expensive. To assemble it you only need to devote one evening to this task; programming the layout is also not very difficult. Just a few hours of hard work and your ideal and easy-to-use device is ready to use.
