An illness characterized by independent typing of the keyboard on a laptop or personal computer is not very common. However, there are many people who are faced with this problem and do not know what to do.

What to do if the keyboard types by itself?

In such a situation, first of all you need to make sure that there is no visible damage to the device. This is not always noticeable at first glance, but if you can remember that you once ate food over it, or spilled something, then you need to either disassemble and clean it yourself, or take it to a service center, or purchase a new one. If the condition of the device can be called good or satisfactory, then the problem lies in the software.

ATTENTION. If you started disassembling yourself, then it is very important to remember the location of the parts in it, and you need to be careful when assembling. This action will allow you to control the cleaning process yourself, but it is done at your own peril and risk. The second step is to use an antivirus program. The reason for unauthorized button pressing may be virus activity. Run the scan and wait a little - if a virus is detected, you need to get rid of it and quarantine the infected files. After this, you need to check the operation of the printing device to see if it helped.

If nothing has changed, then viruses had nothing to do with it. There may be a driver error involved. In order to remove damaged drivers and install new ones, you need to:

• Go to the Start menu and select Device Manager. To do this, you can use the search.
• In the window that opens, find the “Keyboards” section and expand it.
• Select the desired item (usually there is only one), right-click on it and select “update drivers”. If the problems disappear after the update, then the problem has been resolved. If the system finds that the drivers do not need updating, then you need to move on.
• You need to right-click on the device and select “delete”. The keyboard will stop working. You need to restart the PC system and download the drivers again.

• Activity of malware – viruses are divided into many types, and each of them, to one degree or another, disrupts the operation of the system. The consequence may also be malfunctions of the keyboard.
• Problems with drivers are a rare case, but they do occur. The drivers for the keyboard are either not downloaded or are damaged, causing it to start working incorrectly.
• Having an additional keyboard included is a rare occurrence, but some people use multiple keyboards on their PC for different purposes. And the presence of another similar device duplicates all other reasons - from mechanical damage to problems with drivers.

Actions in these situations boil down to eliminating the root cause and following safety rules for operating computer devices and working on the network.
