The e-book is stuck, what should I do?

The e-book has made life much easier for those who love to read. The compact device’s memory stores thousands of literary works. But, like all technology, the e-reader is not immune to freezing problems.

Why does the e-reader freeze?

The screen is frozen in one place, and the device does not respond to pressing. Such malfunctions occur due to problems at two levels:

• Hardware;
• Software

Malfunctions at the hardware level: with hardware. For example, memory, display and other components may not work correctly. Problems at the software level, accordingly, are associated with incorrect operation of the e-reader software or failure of device settings.

What to do if your e-reader is frozen

1. The first and most obvious way to solve the problem is to restart your gadget with the power off button. You can find it on the front or side panel. Hold the button and wait until the screen goes dark, and then turn the gadget back on.
2. If this method does not help, and the gadget does not react in any way when you press the power button, then you can also try rebooting the device using another method. You need to open the back cover of the e-reader, take out the battery, wait about 10-15 seconds and insert it back.

If these methods do not help you, then you can try formatting the device memory. This can be done in a few simple steps.

1. You need to connect the gadget to your computer.The new storage source will appear in the My Computer panel.
2. Right-click on it and select “Format”.
3. After this, the book will need to be configured again: select the language, date, accept the license agreement.

Important! Before turning on the device after formatting, make sure that the battery is more than half charged.

Such methods will help if the device freezes on its own. In this case, it's likely a software issue, and rebooting will clear up the freeze.

If the gadget begins to freeze after a fall, water or other mechanical damage, then a simple reboot is unlikely to help. In this case, some internal component has been damaged, and a simple user will not be able to make repairs on his own. In this case, you need to take the device to a repair shop.
