How to set up a joystick on the dandy emulator
When installing the emulator on your computer, you not only need to download the program, but also connect the appropriate controls to create a console effect. Dendy consoles use special joysticks with their own control scheme. They can be connected to a computer via a USB cable or synchronized via Bluetooth.
However, sometimes it happens that even with proper connection, the controller does not respond to key presses. In our article we will talk about configuration methods and possible reasons for the joystick not working.

Instructions: how to set up the Dandy joystick
Once you have connected the joystick to your computer, it should become the main control device in the emulator. If this does not happen, it is most likely not configured correctly. To activate the controller, you need to complete the following steps:
- Check the connection of the joystick (in case of a wireless version, charge it).
- Launch the Dendy emulator application.
- From the main menu, select Config. If this button is not on the main screen, you can right-click anywhere on the screen and open a dialog box. In it, find a tab with the appropriate name.
- Typically, by default, the emulator uses the keyboard for control. From the list provided, select your controller to connect and activate.
- Now configure the digital operation format to ensure similar console parameters.
- Additionally, you can adjust the vibration power in the corresponding section.
- In the key configuration window, edit the necessary commands and assign each button its own action in the game.
ADVICE: You can save your current settings or adjust them to suit a new game. Try several options to choose the best one.
What errors and difficulties arise during setup?
The setup process does not take much time and is quite easy to complete. But sometimes users have difficulties connecting and setting up. Here is a list of some of them:
- Incorrect connection due to controller format mismatch for a specific game.
- Mechanical damage and failure of equipment.
- Lack of installed emulator program and its settings.
- When setting up commands, you can set only one action for one button. When you press the key again, the last option is retained.
