AA battery: what does it mean?

This name is also due to the size of the element (diameter about a centimeter and length 4.46 cm), since its length corresponds to the length of the little finger. The weight of the element is about 12 grams, and the voltage is 1.5 V. It is important to note that the manufacturing method greatly affects the weight. For example, even seemingly identical devices may differ by 1-1.5 grams. The productivity of AAA salt batteries is 540 mAh, and 1200 mAh of alkaline batteries.

As a rule, this battery is used in small devices that have low current consumption. For example, remote controls, toys, cameras, etc. Chargeable items can be recharged. Such a battery will cost more, but its service life will cover all costs.

When purchasing AAA batteries, it is better to give preference to nickel-metal hydride cells. Since they hold a charge better, they retain their properties even in the cold. The market leader in this group is PANASONIC ENELOOP. Its products can withstand more than 2,000 recharges, so they can last 5–7 years.

These batteries have some common features. First of all, this concerns the voltage - in both cases it is slightly more than 1 V. It is also worth highlighting the service life. In each, it is quite long (provided that it was not a budget device that was purchased, but a more expensive option).

They also differ in their affordable price: some of the most expensive batteries will cost 100, maximum 150 rubles. In this case, you will buy a battery that will last for quite a long time.

Important! Budget options from our Chinese neighbors have a lower price. However, their service life can sometimes be limited to 1–2 months, even in remote control units.
