The high-tech design direction has been used to decorate rooms not so long ago. But over the years it has gained unprecedented popularity. Technological progress is confidently advancing across the planet, and today style is in demand in all countries.
Futuristic design with minimalist elements is loved by city residents. It is, in a way, a continuation of the “concrete jungle”. And the ceiling must strictly correspond to the style.
The following materials are the priority for finishing rooms in high-tech style:
- glass;
- metal;
- plastic;
- mirror;
- artificial and natural stone;
- wood composite.
Precise, precise lines, clear geometric shapes and clear arrangement of furnishing elements.
Finish options
There are several technological options for finishing the ceiling surface in a high-tech style. They differ in the duration and complexity of application. Some of them can be produced without additional surface preparation. Others require careful leveling of the rough ceiling.
Remember that the high-tech style does not recognize natural materials in design. Therefore, wooden lining, slats and cork ceilings will have to be left for other directions.
Painting
Affordable and simple finishing method. With modern paints it is easy to apply one or more layers of coating. The colors chosen are monochrome, often dark, corresponding to the characteristics of a modern interior.
The paint is applied with a brush, a convenient roller or a spray gun. To achieve the most even surface possible, the concrete ceiling will have to be pre-plastered and putty. Otherwise, the paint will lie unevenly and spoil the perfect interior with an untidy appearance.
Tension fabric
The simplest finishing option. Tension fabric installation companies offer a variety of materials in composition, structure and color. You can choose from glossy and matte PVC canvases or give preference to a fabric ceiling. But fabric is used extremely rarely in high-tech style. Most often, matte or glossy PVC sheets in light or dark shades are chosen.
GKL sheets
Drywall is good for its environmental friendliness and the ability to create complex, multi-level structures. Craftsmen attach it to a pre-prepared frame and create unique shapes and original decor.
After installation is completed, the sheets need to be puttied and painted. In addition to all the advantages, drywall reliably hides all the imperfections of the draft ceiling, as well as communication pipes and wiring.
"Armstrong"
One of the popular solutions that refers to non-standard options is the Armstrong ceiling. This is a frame structure into which equal squares of different materials are inserted.
A suspended ceiling can consist of mirror, plastic or plasterboard panels. They are often combined with each other, creating an original decor.
Rack and pinion
Modern design favors slatted ceilings. More often they are made of aluminum profile, which effectively emphasizes the style of the room. The ceiling itself - room decoration.
Without finishing
Rarely, but it happens, designers leave the ceiling in a rough version. In this case, the surface will remain in its natural form, including chips and cracks that appear over time. Main, coat the surface with a special varnishto prevent the absorption of moisture and the spread of dust.
What materials are not used in high-tech style?
Since the design direction involves only modern finishing materials, natural wood, lining and wooden slats are not used here. Natural materials do not fit into the interior of the room, decorated in high-tech style.
Fabrics are rarely used, but in most cases they are made from polymer fiber. If you are not confident in your own choice of finishing materials, it is better to contact specialists. Remember also that the style does not tolerate the use of pompous decor.
High-tech ceilings are laconic and extremely simple designs that emphasize the urban design of the room. Strictly follow the design idea and do not deviate from the pre-planned project.
