Crafts from plastic spoons

It would seem that the purpose of disposable tableware, and in particular plastic spoons, is quite understandable and primitive. But the flight of human imagination knows no bounds. It is not known who first gave them a second life, but now this material is popular and is often used for creativity. Making such crafts is not at all difficult. And the completed work can be used to decorate a summer cottage and local area. Master classes on making flowers, such as tulips, water lilies, and roses, are very popular.

Big flower

Master class: wild flowers

These can be daisies, sunflowers or any other flower suitable for decorating a flower bed.

You will need:

  • a dozen disposable spoons;
  • glue for plastic;
  • scissors;
  • nail polish;
  • cardboard of any color;
  • transparent rhinestones;
  • skewer for stem.

Manufacturing process

Cut two circles of the same size from a cardboard sheet - this will be the base and core of the flower. Break off the handles of the spoons, leaving 1-2 cm at the base - these will be the petals. Paint them with varnish to give the desired shade.

Then they begin assembly. All materials are attached with plastic glue. Five petals are glued along the perimeter of one circle from the back, with the convex side up. There should be no gaps between them.After the first plastic circle is completed, four more petals are glued to the other side of the cardboard circle.

The petals should be arranged so that they do not overlap each other, but form two beautiful tiers. Glue a second paper circle on top. The result will be the following layers:

  • circle of five petals;
  • cardboard;
  • circle of four petals;
  • cardboard.

Glue a skewer to the back. It is covered with green paper or painted. You can collect a whole bouquet of handmade flowers. Rhinestones are attached to the petals - this will be dew.

Daisies

Master class: tulips

Thanks to the oval shape of the spoons, tulip petals are obtained in a natural and regular shape.

You will need:

  • five spoons for each bud;
  • corrugated paper in red, yellow and green colors;
  • glue gun;
  • transparent tape.

Manufacturing process

You can create a bouquet in several ways:

  1. If you take disposable tableware of a suitable color (red, yellow, purple, etc.), then the top part is not wrapped in corrugated paper.
  2. If the spoons need to change color, to do this, cut red rectangles from paper and wrap them around the wide part of each spoon separately.
  3. You can paint the base of the spoons with acrylic paint, creating a color gradient.

When the petals are ready, cut the yellow stamens. They need to be secured in the middle of the flower. To do this, they are attached to the inside of the spoon using a glue gun. Now the spoons are connected into a flower, pressed against each other and wrapped with tape. Wrap the handles of the spoons with green corrugated paper. This is a stem. Now all that remains is to decorate the product with paper leaves. They are glued using a glue gun.

Tulips2

The petals can be burned with a candle. Then they will acquire a wavy edge.Of course, when working with fire, you must follow fire safety rules.

Roses are also made using a similar scheme, increasing the number of petals. Their edges are also melted over a candle.

The product turns out to be so cute that it’s not even a shame to present it to your loved ones as a gift for some holiday.

Master class: water lily

The product will be a wonderful decoration for a garden pond.

You will need:

  • cardboard base in the shape of a green water lily leaf;
  • a circle of thick paper (its size should be slightly smaller than the desired size of the flower);
  • disposable spoons (the quantity depends on the volume of the water lily);
  • glue gun;
  • acrylic paints.

Manufacturing process

Cut the spoon cuttings to half their length. Paint the remaining wide part in the desired color and let dry. Now you need to secure the spoons to a round base so that there are no gaps between them. You need to start from the outer edge in a circle, gradually moving towards the center. The next circle is made with an indentation of about 2-3 cm from the top one so that the petals do not completely overlap each other. A bud is constructed in the center of the figure, inside which a core made of yellow paper, napkin or wire is placed.

You can also use tablet candles instead of the core. Acrylic paints can be replaced with aerosol ones. Then the product is painted after production.

Lily

For flowers, you can also make a vase from a regular plastic container. Choose a copy of a suitable shape and cover it with felt. Secure the ends of the fabric to the bottom, and cover the top with more felt, selected to fit the size of the bottom of the improvised vase. All is ready!

Creating crafts from disposable spoons is a fascinating process, and in some places even exciting.This is an opportunity to take a break from routine and show your creativity. Moreover, this hobby does not require a lot of money.
