How to remove the hob from the countertop
A previously installed hob is removed in several cases when, after long-term operation and use, the time comes to replace a new one instead of an installed old model or one that cannot be repaired. If it needs to be repaired due to improper operation, then in order to get to the internal part and repair or replace faulty elements, the tabletop is also dismantled.

Disabling communications
When dismantling, a number of measures must be taken.
Before starting all work, it is necessary to disconnect from all types of gas or electricity supplies, depending on the type.
Next, based on the type:
- For gas hob — turn off the gas equipment, including the shut-off valve or gas supply taps at the entrance to the house.
- For electric hob — we disconnect the device itself from the electricity, in the following order, first we turn off the circuit breaker in the electrical panel of the room, then, during dismantling, the power connector.
We draw special attention to the fact that all gas and electrical work must be carried out by qualified specialists.
Mechanical dismantling
After disconnecting from all types of communication connections, we begin to remove the device:
- First of all, we inspect the outer working surface for the absence of foreign objects;
- We find and unscrew the fastening center screws that hold the entire structure;
- After this, we do not completely unscrew the fastening screws;
- By loosening the corner fasteners, we move them away from the stop points, freeing the panels of their table top to pass through;
- After loosening these hooks, we pull out the structure. When the panel is taken out, the electrical power supply wire is pulled out after it, and we disconnect it from the connector (attention only when there is no voltage supply to the device).
- Having taken out the hob, carefully place it on the previously prepared place. If necessary, the place where it is installed in the countertop is covered with a shield prepared in advance in size, to prevent children and animals from getting into it.
- After repair or replacement, all activities are performed in the reverse order.
Attention! Connection of communications (gas and electricity) is carried out only after making sure that the equipment is correctly connected and by qualified specialists.
Safety precautions
When removing the hob, be sure to follow safety requirements. Perform all actions correctly, taking into account the manufacturer’s recommendations specified in the product data sheet.
Basic safety measures:
- use only for its intended purpose;
- it is impossible to disconnect the electrical connector from the device without taking measures and making sure that it is disconnected from the electrical network;
- you cannot change the procedure for shutting off gas equipment and perform dismantling without turning off the supply valve;
- Ensure that there are no children or animals nearby.
Avoid accidentally dropping the panel from your hands to avoid health hazards and damage.
It is recommended to use the services of qualified tradesmen (gas and electrical work). Since performance by unqualified specialists can lead to accidents, both during the work itself and during subsequent operation, which can lead to damage and harm to health.
