7 tips for those who hate ironing

Getting your underwear in decent condition before putting it on is a rather complicated process. If a washing machine can easily wash clothes, then ironing, for example, a men's shirt, will have to be done with your own hands. And there is hardly a girl who truly enjoys this process.

ironingThis is usually a long and unloved activity that needs to be done regularly to keep your clothes looking neat. Therefore, tips on how to make ironing easy and stress-free are very relevant.

What should and should not be done with linen to make ironing it easy?

laundry in the machine
Ironing is a very tedious task that does not bring pleasure. Things are especially difficult with complex fabrics or overdried items with many folds; they just don’t want to be ironed out. But there are a few secrets that will make this process easier:

  • do not leave the laundry in the machine after washing (in order for the clothes to be ironed easily and quickly, you need to immediately remove the laundry from the drum after washing, so the clothes will not pick up excess moisture and will be elastic);
  • Before hanging the laundry on the dryer, you need to carefully straighten it and hang it carefully, so fewer wrinkles will form on it;
  • do not overdry, otherwise ironing will become almost impossible; you will have to moisten the laundry with a spray bottle;
  • the ironing board can be wrapped in foil, the shiny side facing out, then large items, such as bed linen and curtains, will be easily ironed when only one side is applied - thanks to the foil, the bottom side will smooth out on its own;
  • to smooth out wrinkles on clothing that are not amenable to normal temperature effects, you need to sprinkle the item with water with the addition of vinegar;
  • it is easier to make arrows using paper clips and clips (ideally, you need to sew the fabric with a basting stitch to make it easier to iron the “arrows”);
  • It is better to iron complex fabrics (velvet or corduroy) on a towel, so the folds are smoothed out very quickly and the fabric does not wrinkle.

ironingImportant! Be sure to follow these rules every time you wash your laundry. Then ironing will not be so burdensome and a mountain of laundry will be ironed in a short time.

Putting large things in order requires special effort. Ask someone from your household for help, let them help you straighten and align things. This way you can iron a sheet or duvet cover twice as quickly.

What fabric does not require ironing?

There are products made from certain types of fabrics that do not require ironing. These include, for example, the popular stretch. Denim with the addition of lycra not only stretches well, but also practically does not wrinkle.

Another example of wrinkle-resistant fabric is frote. This is a natural cotton fabric with elongated loops that resembles a fleecy fabric. It may vary in pile height or have a cut pattern. After washing, it is enough to simply straighten this fabric well.

wrinkle-resistant fabricSome mixed fabrics, created specifically for sewing bed linen, also have the ability to hold their shape and practically do not wrinkle. Thanks to the mixture of natural and synthetic threads, this is a comfortable and practical fabric that does not need to be ironed.
