What is a centrifugal juicer?

The principle of operation of a centrifugal juicer is to create increased pressure in the compartment with fruits and vegetables, resulting in the separation of solid and liquid fractions of fruits loaded into the device.

Such a device consists of an electric motor, a separator, a juice container and a control unit. The separator can be cylindrical or conical in shape. The advantage of the cylindrical type is its high productivity and obtaining more juice from the squeezed fruits. However, you have to remove the pulp manually by turning off the device after preparing two glasses of the drink. Conical separators act in the opposite way - they are able to discard the pulp, but do not squeeze out the juice completely. Separators are made of stainless steel with technological holes, the quantity of which determines the quality of the juice.

The body of the device is made of impact-resistant glossy plastic, resistant to odors and easy to clean.

The hole for laying the fruit is made wide for ease of preparation of ingredients. Some models have a pre-chopping function.

Centrifugal juicers appeared quite a long time ago and have become common units in the modern kitchen. They are quite simple to use:

1. Prepared fruits - peeled and cut into portions - are placed in a receiving container.
2. After turning on the device, the raw materials are ground to obtain a paste.
3. Under the influence of high-speed rotation of the centrifuge, the crushed product is pressed into the walls of the container and the cake and liquid are distributed into different compartments.
4. The resulting juice flows into the glass, ready for use.

Important! Centrifugal juicers are considered universal, although the list of recommended products is determined by the manufacturer individually for each model.

Distinctive features

The design and operating principle of a centrifugal juicer determine some aspects of its use in relation to domestic conditions.

The main advantages of devices of this type, for which consumers prefer them, are their affordable price and high speed of operation. Juice can be prepared very quickly, within a few minutes, but the device must have a power in the range of 0.2-1.2 kW. Depending on the model, the time of continuous operation without the risk of engine overheating varies.

However, high operating speed leads to heating of the processed fruits and a decrease in useful substances. At the same time, the products are saturated with oxygen, as a result of which the juice oxidizes and foams. These factors reduce the quality of the drink and shorten its shelf life to half an hour.

Important! The juice should be squeezed immediately before use; storing it in the refrigerator is not recommended.

The disadvantage of centrifugal juicers is the high noise level, which is undesirable in homes with small children and elderly household members.

Thanks to its high speed and productivity, a centrifugal juicer is convenient to use for making drinks at home, especially when there is a shortage of morning time.

The device can process almost any vegetables and fruits, regardless of their hardness and density. Some models can even handle frozen foods. Difficulties arise when squeezing greens, herbs, and fruits with small seeds that cannot be removed in preparation for work.

Preference for a standard diet that does not include gourmet recipes allows you to purchase a centrifugal model for daily preparation of a vitamin drink.
