How to disassemble a juicer

JuicerOwners of a juicer are often interested in how to disassemble this kitchen unit correctly - that is, without compromising its functionality. The need for disassembly appears when there is a disruption in the normal functioning of the device, because some malfunctions can be eliminated independently, thereby saving the budget.

Common reasons when you need to disassemble a juicer

There are several main reasons for malfunctions in the functioning of the juicer:

  • liquid got inside the equipment;
  • there was a power surge;
  • the load has been exceeded due to the long operating time of the juicer.

The following signs may indicate a breakdown:

  • excessive heating and sparking of equipment - the juicer needs to replace certain parts;
  • slow rotation of the shaft - most likely the bearings will need to be cleaned or replaced;
  • a burning smell is detected, there are traces of blackness on the juicer - this happens if the winding of the product is burnt out - in this case, only replacing it will help.

These are the main causes of breakdowns and ways to eliminate them.

IMPORTANT! A burnt-out motor winding is the most serious fault; the rest can be easily fixed at home.

What parts does a juicer consist of?

Absolutely any juicer has a standard set of parts included:

  • electric motor;
  • product cover;
  • product pusher;
  • dishes for collecting fruit and vegetable juice;
  • strainer and insert under it;
  • dishes for collecting vegetable and fruit pulp.

Required tools and disassembly steps

Disassembled juicerTo disassemble all types of such equipment, you do not need many tools: you will need a standard set of screwdrivers of different shapes and types. The main parts of the juicer are secured with latches, screws and clamps; you may need additional tools in case of a complex breakdown, but you should not prepare them in advance, since with a complex breakdown it is better to contact specialists.

Before disassembling the juicer, be sure to unplug the device from the outlet and set the switch button to off mode. As soon as the equipment stops working and making noise, you can start working. You need to remove the plastic pusher from the fruit and vegetable loading container. Remove the container for pulp and waste. You also need to make sure that all the juice flows out, you need to tilt the equipment forward and towards you and disconnect the liquid container.
The next step in disassembling the device is to carefully study the attached instructions. You shouldn’t rely on “maybe” and do everything at random, as this can lead to even bigger problems and the inability to repair the juicer at all. You can cause a defect to the equipment that simply cannot be eliminated.

REFERENCE! Almost all instructions for the equipment are similar; you can download them from the Internet.

After studying the instructions, you need to begin removing the top cover and all retaining elements. They are either tightly inserted into each other, or secured with special plastic or metal clamps, that is, you need to remove everything that is secured without using tools and that could interfere with disassembling the electric motor of the juicer.

To remove the unit’s motor mounts and remove it, you need to turn the equipment upside down and unscrew the 4 bolts on the bottom. After this, remove and unscrew all the fastenings of the electrical wire blocks on the back side of the unit. This way, the bottom will be completely freed up and can be moved to the side.

After all these manipulations, the drive disk is removed from the equipment shaft. This must be done while keeping the part from turning in the other direction, by disconnecting the bolts and nuts. Another way is to lift it up, if it is simply firmly seated on the shaft itself without the use of nuts and screws.

The next step is to remove the motor casing. It is necessary to remove all screws and bolts that interfere with the direct removal of the shift knob and free all wires. Also unscrew all the bolts of the juicer motor control board and set aside.

After all the procedures, it is easy to unscrew the screws of the electric motor itself and remove it.

To inspect the rotor of the equipment, you need to remove the engine and disconnect all the wires, then remove the necessary part and inspect it for malfunctions and damage. It is also advisable to check the bearings by turning them with your finger a couple of times. If everything is in order, then the rotor should move by inertia without difficulty.

In order for the juicer to work, it is necessary to treat it from dirt and dust and inspect it. Use a special device to test all the wires, the motor winding and the rest of the board elements.
