Gas stove burns poorly
When buying a gas stove, many consumers hope for its long-term and uninterrupted operation. This household appliance operates in extreme conditions; its working parts are constantly affected by thermal loads. Over time, this impact will lead to various problems with the bottom, in particular, the burners will begin to burn heavily, hiss, and make cracking noises.

Why does a gas stove burner burn poorly?
One of the most common problems that arise in a gas stove is rightfully considered to be interruptions in the operation of the burner. This is expressed in a change in the color of the flame, an increase in the size of the flame emerging from the burner or, conversely, a sharp decrease in it. Problems with the operation of the burner can also include flame separation. In addition, under certain circumstances, a working device begins to make sounds that should not exist. The gas stove generally operates almost silently.
As a rule, any problems are caused by a number of reasons, among which are those characteristic of most models of gas stoves of domestic and foreign production. Among them we highlight the following:
- The design of the device is damaged.
- The gas hose is damaged.
- Deficiency of air-gas mixture.
- Low gas pressure.
- Incorrect burner selection.
What if the burner does not burn well and makes sounds?
All models of gas stoves are equipped with burners. In fact, this is the main working organ necessary for cooking.
The burner body is the end of the gas valve and takes part in mixing and preparing the gas fuel necessary for normal operation. This unit is most susceptible to thermal effects from burning fuel. Sooner or later, the parts that make up the burner are subject to deformation, the seal of the lid to the burner body is lost and the result is a violation of the combustion mode, that is, air begins to flow through the resulting cracks. This leads to flame failure. During the combustion process, soot begins to be produced, and the ring of fire around the burner may change its color to red. The consequence of deformation is the generation of sounds that should not exist by definition.
We must not forget that over time there is a decrease in the holes (nozzle). This occurs due to the formation of soot due to the ingress of food particles, fat, and detergents into them. If a dirty burner can be washed, a deformed burner must be urgently replaced.
IMPORTANT!
IF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT REPLACEMENT, THEN IT'S BEST TO REPLACE ALL BURNERS.
What to do when the gas stove burns poorly
As noted above, if the burners operate intermittently, it is necessary to understand why this is happening and, based on this, make a decision to either flush or replace the burner.
Can I fix the problem myself?
In fact, it is best to contact specialists with any difficulties. But still, some operations can be performed independently. For example, wash the burner from accumulated dirt, which has a negative effect on the combustion process of gaseous fuel.
How can I clean the burner? The washing operation looks like this:
- Remove the grate from the surface of the stove that covers the faulty burner.
- Remove the divider (cover) from the surface of the burner and pull out the burner itself.
- You may need to remove several screws to get to the injector. However, this depends on the model of the stove.
- Surely a certain amount of debris has accumulated under the burner that needs to be removed.
- Cleaning the burner and its components. To do this you will need to prepare cleaning solution. It consists of 10 parts of any dishwashing detergent and 1 part of water. It makes sense to keep the burner components in this composition for some time. The duration of soaking is determined by the degree of contamination. To thoroughly clean the divider, it is advisable to use a toothbrush and toothpicks.. After all parts have been washed, they must be thoroughly dried.
- The nozzle also needs to be washed; you can use a toothpick to clean the hole.
- After all the parts have dried, you can reassemble and install the nozzle and burner in place.
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT USE SEWING NEEDLES TO CLEAN THE HOLES IN THE NOZZLE. THEY BREAK PRETTY EASILY AND CAN SIMPLY GET STUCK IN THE NOZZLE. IT WILL BE PROBLEMATIC TO GET IT FROM THERE.
If an electric ignition is installed on the stove, it can also cause unstable operation of the burner.
If, after cleaning, the flame still burns unstably or does not work at all, then perhaps the reason lies in the electric ignition. This can be found out quite simply. To do this, you need to turn off the lights in the kitchen and press the ignition button in the dark. If the spark is yellow or orange, then the entire unit will most likely need to be replaced. This device cannot be repaired.
Actions to prevent this breakdown
In order to avoid problems with the burner, it must be periodically inspected and cleaned. In general, the gas stove must be kept clean and tidy. Its careless use can lead to a number of unpleasant consequences.
