General requirements for operating a gas stove
During work, it is recommended to open the window in the kitchen or turn on the hood. This is necessary to eliminate the emitted carbon monoxide, which does not have a completely positive effect on a person’s well-being (headaches and allergic reactions may occur), and its high concentration can be hazardous to health. In addition, this will reduce the level of soot contamination of the ceiling and kitchen furniture. Also, large-diameter pots should not be placed on low burners, as this may cause incomplete combustion of the gas.
ATTENTION! Connection of gas equipment, as well as maintenance, should be carried out only by specialists who have the appropriate permits for this type of activity.
After finishing the cooking process, be sure to turn the tap to the “off” position and allow through ventilation of the kitchen and rooms.
REFERENCE! Regular cleaning of the outer surface of the stove (grids, burner covers) will ensure its normal functioning and significantly extend its service life.
You should take the arrangement of space seriously. It is not allowed to place flammable items (curtains, towels, potholders) near the stove that could cause a fire. If there are children in the house, it is advisable to place dishes on the rear burners to avoid accidents. Or use special fencing, which can be purchased separately in the store.
IMPORTANT! There is a sequence of actions in the event of a gas leak in the room: do not allow electric lighting to be turned on and off, as well as any appliances powered by the mains, close the valve on the gas pipe, open windows or a vent to ensure ventilation, call the gas service and wait for specialists to arrive.
How to light a fire
If you have purchased a new stove or are encountering this type of equipment for the first time, you should carefully read the attached instructions, which contain a detailed description of the operation of the device. Consider the location of the relays being turned. Typically, manufacturers try to schematically depict the relationship of the relay with a specific burner in an accessible and understandable way. Before you start using the stove, you need to make sure that all relays are in the off position. Next, turn the valve on the pipe to ensure the supply of natural gas to the stove.
Important information will be the principle of ignition of the burners. There are two main options: ignition using matches (lighters) or using the additional function of the “built-in electric ignition” stove. Its operation is as follows: when you press a button located on the left or right side of the relay, a spark is supplied to all burners.
In the first case, we light a match and bring it to the selected divider, at the same time with the other hand we turn the relay counterclockwise by ninety degrees, adjust the flame level to the required size (strong, medium, weak). In the second case, press the electric ignition button (you may have to press it several times), then, pressing a little, turn the relay. It is worth noting that this option is more convenient for daily use.
To turn on the oven, open the door and find the holes at the bottom where you place a burning match. At the same time, the relay associated with the oven turns. If the fire ignites, close the door and turn the relay to the position of the required heating temperature. If the “built-in electric ignition” function is available, it operates similarly to turning on the upper burners.
IMPORTANT! It is worth paying attention to the correct color of the fire: it should be a distinct blue hue, and also be evenly distributed in a circle. The appearance of uneven, intermittent, orange-tinged combustion is considered unacceptable. In this case, you should contact the gas service to identify and eliminate the cause (most likely, the burner will need to be cleaned).
What is prohibited to do when using a gas stove
What is strictly prohibited to do while using the stove:
