How and what to use to clean the burners of a gas stove
The neighbor was puzzled: a gas service employee was supposed to come for a scheduled inspection of the stove. Even though she is a neat person, she washes everything extra. And suddenly she began to doubt whether she was washing the burners correctly. I have never had this question before. And then I started thinking about it myself. In general, the next day the gas worker not only checked the stoves, but also explained everything to us. It turns out that this simple matter has its own tricks.

Cleaning the burners is a must!
I don’t know about you, but when cleaning I usually pay mainly attention to the surface of the stove. No, I also wipe the burners with a damp cloth. But this is not enough!
Burners contaminated by food particles and grease can cause uneven gas flow and weak flames. Gas simply cannot escape from all sides of the burner in equal flows. Dirt will interfere with this.
Of course, most often the contamination gradually ignites and the obstacle to the gas stream disappears. But the smell will not please you. And if blockages form on all sides of the burner at the same time, this will interfere with the normal operation of the equipment.
That is, cleaning regularly is much easier than dealing with the problem later.
How to clean
To complete the procedure without difficulty, you should choose the right care products. This will also eliminate unpleasant consequences when the substances used interact with gas and when heated.
For cleaning burners are removed from the gas stove. The access to the gas is first blocked. A window or window in the kitchen is opened to provide fresh air.
Important! When processing burners, it is not recommended to use sharp objects (knives, scissors, scrapers), brushes, or abrasive cleaning agents.
How to clean
The housewife will always find something to clean gas equipment with.
Household chemicals for the stove
On sale you can find special products produced for the care of gas stoves.
Provided that the instructions are strictly followed, their use is safe and effective.
You don’t have to buy special substances, but make do with the products that you already have.
Dishwashing liquid
If you use liquid dishwashing detergents, feel free to use them to clean burners as well. Only their washing will be different from other kitchen utensils. The burners will need to be soaked.
Reference. To obtain the solution you will need warm water (2 l) and liquid dishwashing detergent (4 tbsp).
The cleaning procedure is simple. Parts of gas equipment are immersed in a container with the prepared solution. The exposure time of the product is 2 hours. Then the burners are wiped with a sponge and washed thoroughly so that no solution remains. Finally, wipe dry.
Soda
If you haven't touched the burners for a long time and you find stubborn dirt, baking soda will help. You should not rub a dry burner with it - it will not help.
- Using a soapy sponge, wash the burner in warm water. Dust and surface contaminants will be washed off without difficulty.
- Mix soda with a small amount of water until a paste is obtained.
- Apply baking soda to the burner.
- After half an hour, clean the burner with a sponge or cloth.
Advice. For effective cleaning, use an old toothbrush, it will speed up the procedure.
The burner is thoroughly washed and dried. After this, the part can be returned to the plate again.
Vinegar
Using vinegar also gives good results.
- The burners are soaked for 30 minutes in a solution of boiling water (1 liter) and vinegar (0.5 cup). You can also use cold water for the solution. In this case, the proportions are as follows: cold water (200 ml), vinegar (2 tbsp.).
- After exposure to vinegar, the burners are washed in warm water.
- Wipe and remove remaining moisture with paper or cloth towels, and air dry.
Ammonia
The ammonia solution is applied to the burner surface and left for 20 minutes. Then wash off the ammonia with water and dry.
Lemon acid
Another way to prepare a solution for treatment: water at room temperature (1 cup) and citric acid (1 tbsp.). The solution is applied to the part and left for 15 minutes. Then wash and dry.
Important! After removing the burner cover, housewives sometimes see that the nozzle underneath is also dirty. It also requires processing.
Some risky ladies try to clean it with a sharp object (needle, toothpick, knitting needle). We don't think this is a solution. It's better to call a specialist.
And now you know how to keep the burners clean in the future.
