Basic operating modes of a multicooker
A multicooker is a complex electronic device that, in accordance with the cooking recipe, controls the operation of:
- heating element, maintaining the set temperature;
- a working valve that regulates the steam pressure in the bowl.
The multicooker is programmed for 8 – 40 cooking programs.
ATTENTION! Manufacturers give different names to the same processes. Therefore, do not worry if some program is missing. In the budget option, the main modes may have names: “Heating”, “Pilaf”, “Soup”, “Baking”, “Buckwheat”, “Stewing”, “Steaming”, “Milk porridge”, “Delayed cooking”. The names speak for themselves.
If the multicooker has a small number of programs, do not be disappointed! This difficulty can be easily resolved if you know that all the variety of modes is based on one of five processes:
- Cooking.The lid is closed, the operating valve is open. Temperature 180 degrees. Pasta, potatoes, soups, dumplings are cooked in liquid under pressure. There may be auxiliary modes that differ in the pressure in the bowl: “buckwheat”, which allows you to prepare various porridges from buckwheat, pearl barley and rice, “milk porridge” is used for semolina, barley, rice, oat milk porridges, “pilaf”. With the additional frying function, the mode is designed for cooking meat, fried potatoes and pilaf.
- Steaming. The lid is closed, the valve is open. Temperature 115–120 degrees. When equipped with a special container, it is used as a steamer for the delicate preparation of low-calorie dietary dishes in accordance with the basics of a healthy diet. You can cook meat, fish, vegetables, various side dishes. This mode is convenient for heating food.
- Frying. The lid is open. Temperature 100–160 degrees. Meat, mushrooms, potatoes, side dishes are fried with the addition of oil. Used for frying foods for first courses. If the bowl has a Teflon coating, there is no need to add oil. But without oil, the taste of the dish may change.
- Extinguishing. The lid is closed, the valve is closed. Temperature 90–140 degrees. Thanks to pressure cooking at low temperatures, all the beneficial properties of the food are preserved. Suitable for preparing soup, jellied meat, vegetables, fish and meat dishes, porridges, cabbage rolls.
- Bakery. Temperature 118–122 degrees. Works like an oven. Allows you to fry foods, bake meat, bake, pies, biscuits, muffins, buns and bread.
Manual operating programs
