Why can’t you wash your multicooker under the tap?
Cleaning with wet wipes and sponges is a rather lengthy and labor-intensive process. At first glance, washing under running water will cope with this much faster. However, this cannot be done. This household appliance has a complex structure.
Important! Hidden inside the case is a heating element and many microcircuits with which programs are installed. The electrical part is protected from liquid penetration by a special bowl in which water and food are placed. Moisture entering the multicooker can cause short circuits and damage to contacts.
If water gets in, the device must be immediately turned upside down to drain the water. It should dry naturally within several hours. Putting a multicooker under running water is the same as washing a mobile phone or hair dryer under a tap.
Attention! If water gets inside the housing, it can damage the device.
How should you wash a multicooker?
It is better to wash the multicooker only after the device has cooled down after cooking. It is necessary to remove the bowl and steam valve, and disconnect the lid.
Then proceed in the following sequence:
- Wash the bowl under the tap using special detergents and a soft sponge. Abrasive substances must not be used for Teflon coating. You can fill the container with a foaming solution and leave it to soak for 20 minutes.
- Clean the steam valve under the tap.
- To quickly detach the cover, carefully read the instructions. Wash the lid with cleaning agent or baking soda. Unpleasant odors can be easily removed by wiping the surface with a vinegar solution.
- Remove crumbs and leftover food from under the bowl using a soft sponge. Apply and leave the carbon remover for a couple of minutes. Wipe the surface with a damp and then dry cloth.
- The external part of the device can be wiped with a cloth or detergent.
- You can continue using the device when it is completely dry.
Important! Before cleaning the multicooker, make sure that the device is unplugged.
What to do in case of heavy contamination?
The multicooker, like all electrical appliances, should not be washed under the tap. However, if your favorite gadget is very dirty, then to clean it you need to remove the electronic component. After this, the parts can be soaked in detergents and washed under the tap.
Reference! If the multicooker is plugged in immediately after washing, a short circuit may occur.
Washing the device under running water will damage the contacts, and in most cases, further use will be impossible. Timely care after each cooking will keep the multicooker clean for a long time.
