Is it possible to put a microwave on top of a microwave?

The number of household appliances in the kitchen increases every year. This is due to the entry into the market of a wide variety of electronic meat grinders, apparatus for drying vegetables, huge food processors, and so on. And often in a small kitchen there is simply no place to put them.

A modern housewife simply cannot do without a microwave in the kitchen, and the question often arises: where to put the microwave if there is practically no space left? Many people place it on the refrigerator or on an existing microwave. The question of the proximity of electrical appliances may concern owners of small cafes with small kitchens where there is not enough space.

The same question is often discussed by residents of communal apartments, where the appliances of several housewives are placed in one kitchen space. Also, large production facilities have a kitchen for staff meals with many microwaves and other appliances. With such close placement of household appliances, you need to think first of all about fire safety.

What to pay attention to

You should pay attention to the fact that each microwave model has ventilation holes in different parts of it: bottom, top or side. When installing, remember that the ventilation must not be closed; air must circulate freely in the openings.

Otherwise, the microwave may simply burn out from excessive heating. The free distance to another device should be at least 20–30 cm for the top cover, 10 cm for the back cover, and at least 5–10 cm for the side cover.

Installation Tips

Two microwave ovens can perfectly coexist, because each has its own housing and functions only in it. The only thing is to carefully inspect the devices and place them so that the ventilation holes do not intersect.

For a strong installation, you should place a rubber mat between them so that the upper microwave cannot move or fall. Without such a layer, the thin casing of the SV oven can be damaged. It is recommended to turn them on one by one.

IMPORTANT! It is prohibited to place a microwave oven near a heating radiator or electric or gas stove!

When installing on a refrigerator, you must also comply with all ventilation standards and do not cover the openings. If you cannot install it any other way, you can place the stove on a special stand or legs. There is nothing in the owner's manual that says not to place the microwave on top of a refrigerator or microwave.

ADVICE! When you go shopping, immediately determine the location for the microwave oven. They come in different sizes and may not fit where you originally wanted to put it.

• When installing the device, make sure that the socket is located close to it; it is better not to use an extension cord;
• Do not place it next to flowers, the emitted waves can destroy the plant;
• When placing the stove on the refrigerator, buy a heat-insulating mat;
• Do not place the microwave on the very edge, otherwise one uneven movement may catch the device, and it will fall to the floor and be damaged;
• It is not recommended to install microwave ovens on high-height refrigerators. It will be inconvenient to place and, even more so, take out heated food from there. You will need to stand on a chair or step, and such manipulations may result in a burn or fall.
