Causes of water cooler leaks

The popularity of water coolers is growing. They are used in factories, offices, catering establishments, and many users even install these devices at home. And this is not surprising, because after purchasing a cooler you can get access to purified water around the clock. Sometimes this equipment may fail. Not all breakdowns require contacting a service center and can be repaired by the consumer himself.

Possible reasons why the water cooler is leaking

The most common reasons why a cooler leaks from below include poor-quality containers, as well as problems with the tap and contamination of the device. For some consumers, the equipment can work stably for a long time, while others experience regular leakage, which is associated with improper operation of the device. In addition, it is difficult to control who exactly makes mistakes when using a bottom-loading device if it is installed in an office where a huge number of employees work.

Although leaks can also appear in situations where only one person uses the equipment. Therefore, before contacting a technician, it is recommended to find out the cause of the leak. It may be easy to fix it yourself and, as a result, avoid unplanned expenses.

Methods for eliminating cooler leaks

If you use untreated water, after some time various deposits begin to appear on the walls of the container. And if you do not clean the device in a timely manner, it may become clogged, resulting in a water leak, or, on the contrary, it stops flowing. In such situations it is necessary:

• disconnect the device from the power supply and remove the bottle;
• wash the device using detergent;
• thoroughly wash and rinse the tray;
• clean all taps with a thin brush;
• return everything to its original position and drain about 0.5 liters of water to rinse the device from any residual detergent.

ATTENTION! To prevent such a malfunction, use exclusively purified water for coolers.

If a leak appears during operation of the cooler, there is no need to immediately contact a service center to repair the equipment. First, you should do the following: check the device, namely, inspect the water container for cracks and other damage. If any are found during the inspection, you simply need to remove the defective bottle and install a new container in its place.

To do this, you should disconnect the equipment from the electrical network, remove the low-quality bottle, drain the remaining water from the tap, and then put in a new container. The removed bottle must be wrapped in film and returned to the equipment supplier.

ATTENTION! Water can flow through the top due to the absence of a special plug in the drain valve. It is not always possible to install it yourself, and therefore it is recommended to contact a specialist.

How to use a cooler correctly

There are several recommendations for the correct operation of the equipment, using which you can significantly increase the service life of the cooler and avoid costly repairs:

1. Before installing a new cylinder, remove stickers, caps and hygienic film from the neck.
2. Use only purified water.
3. When the device is in cooling or heating mode, it must not be disconnected from the power supply.
4. There is no need to use a thermostat while the cooler is operating in cooling mode.
5. When the water container is empty, the cooler must be disconnected from the network.
6. It is necessary to regularly clean the device (wiping the body 1-2 times a week).
