Preparation of other possible drinks

Coping perfectly with its main purpose - preparing a cup of aromatic coffee, a familiar piece of household appliance can be used for preparing a wide variety of drinks:

  1.  Tea. You can please those around you with tasty and rich tea and diversify your feasts if, instead of coffee, you fill the container 2/3 with granulated tea. Lovers of a delicious drink will appreciate its taste.
  2. Punch. Treating yourself and your loved ones with a glass of hot toddy is easy! This is where an old coffee maker comes in handy. You will need bags of tea (1-2), preferably black; honey, preferably liquid, and whiskey. Mix the ingredients. The amount of each of them is determined by what kind of drink you want: more or less strong or sweet. Boil and let the drink brew. The punch is ready!
  3. Hot chocolate. Children will be delighted to be able to easily make their favorite hot chocolate from two ingredients: milk and chocolate. Add grated chocolate to the container with milk. It is advisable to use dark chocolate, which is crushed using a fine grater. Mix everything and let it boil. Having once completed the entire process together with adults, children will subsequently be able to easily operate the coffee maker and prepare hot chocolate in it themselves.

Preparation of other possible products

Food in the coffee maker
A coffee maker will come in handy more than once when you need to heat up or even prepare other various dishes.

In some cases, a flask traditionally used for brewing coffee is used for cooking; in others, the flask is removed and the coffee maker is used without it. Let's consider both options.

Cooking in a flask

Important! When loading food into the coffee maker, be sure that it does not touch the filter of the device. Otherwise, small food particles will clog the filter, which will prevent the use of household appliances.

  • Oatmeal

To make oatmeal, fill a flask with water and add oatmeal. Use your usual ratios of ingredients to get the porridge of the viscosity you prefer, for example 4 tbsp. l. flakes per 1 glass of water. Just boil for 5 minutes, and hot oatmeal is ready for a healthy snack.

  • Rice

It will take twice as long to cook the rice. The cooking process is also simple, fill 2/3 of the flask with water, the remaining third is occupied by rice.Turn on the coffee maker, and after 10 minutes the cooked rice is ready to eat.

  • Eggs

The same principle is followed when boiling eggs. How long you need depends on your preferences: in two minutes the eggs will be ready “in the bag”. But to hard-boil them, you need to wait a little longer.

  • Noodles

Fill the noodles with water, heat them in a coffee maker, and use seasonings to make them aromatic.

Attention! Do not apply spices directly to the noodles. Place them in a filter, in this case the taste of the dish will be much more interesting.

  • Corn

The corn cob will be ready after 8 minutes of cooking in the flask.

  • Fondue

Stock up on ingredients to make chocolate fondue in advance. In addition to the chocolate itself, you will need cream. Fondue will require some time on your part: 15 minutes to heat the cream, and another 10 minutes to simmer it with the added chocolate pieces.

Fill a suitable container with the viscous hot mixture so that you can dip pieces of fruit, cookies or just crackers into it. Everyone will love the taste of chocolate fondue!

Cooking without a flask

A coffee maker does more than just brew. After removing the flask, the hot disc of the unit can be used to fry food.

  • Sandwich

A hot sandwich with a variety of fillings, closed on both sides with pieces of bread, can be prepared using a coffee maker. Make a sandwich base using bread and available ingredients. Turn on the coffee maker with the flask removed and let the disc warm up. Place the sandwich on it, toasting each side one at a time. Be careful not to get burned!

  • Fried sausage

Roasting in a coffee makerSpecial grilled sausages or just pieces of sausage can be reheated or even thoroughly fried using the heated disc of the coffee maker.

Attention! Do not leave meat products unattended! Turn them constantly to prevent over-cooking on one side.

This way you can simply fry the sausages or use them for your favorite hot dogs.

  • Chicken

Chicken in the coffee maker? Why not! Once you try to cook chicken in a coffee maker, you will be convinced that the chicken will be juicy, tasty and well-cooked. You don’t need much water to cook chicken pieces: the poultry meat should be only half or 2/3 in water.

Don't forget to add salt, and if you have seasonings on hand, feel free to add them! Turn on the coffee maker and watch the time: the chicken pieces will need to be turned after 15 minutes of cooking. After boiling them for 15 minutes on each side, try the meat, it should be ready. If necessary, leave the bird to cook for some more time.

Are you convinced that there is a lot available to the coffee maker? This is true; you can continue culinary experiments with a coffee maker yourself.

An original decorative item from an old coffee maker

Even if you don't plan to use your old coffee maker for cooking, don't rush to put it away in the pantry. It can become a bright element in the interior of your kitchen.

Changing the appearance

Coffee makers of different colorsMany coffee makers are made of plastic of one color (black, gray, brown, etc.). In this form there is nothing original or attractive about them. To transform household appliances, you can use the decoupage technique.

To decorate the coffee maker, select special paper; you can use special or regular napkins with a pattern that fits into your interior. The color of the body can be completely changed using acrylic paints.

But even if you don't, choosing patterns or napkin designs can help an ordinary item look completely new. After gluing and drying, the surface is varnished; in this form, the coffee maker can be washed or wiped with a damp cloth. Any decoration will make a standard coffee maker a unique and unique item.

Filling the flask

The transparent flask of a coffee maker can not only be a container for storing small items, but also become an additional interior decoration. Fill it with dried rosebuds or chestnuts, shells or beautiful pebbles from the seashore collected together with the children, and it will become a reminder to all family members of a great time.

Before the New Year, you can decorate it by placing cones painted in gold or silver in a flask. And if, throughout the year, you put notes in a flask with a brief or encrypted reminder of funny or interesting events, indicating their date, on New Year’s Eve you can have a good time, together guessing who wanted to be reminded of what event.

Second life for an old coffee maker

The unexpected transformation of an old coffee maker will surprise many, delight your child and bring pleasure to you. To do this, you need to turn the coffee maker flask into a mini aquarium. This is not difficult to do, just like caring for fish or snails living in an old coffee maker. And the opportunity to switch gears and relax is guaranteed!

As you can see, an old coffee maker is not a matter of disposal or storage, but a complete kitchen machine, as well as a source of creativity and inspiration.
