What types of machine printing exist: photo and description

Photo printing machines are classified according to many criteria. Among them, the most important are the design, type and format of printing, and the number of colors. There are additional criteria, which are also described in detail in the presented material.

Construction of printing machines

When understanding what types of machine printing exist, you should start by studying the design. Based on this indicator, the following types of devices are distinguished:

  1. Crucibles are equipped with a press, which presses the paper and creates pressure. They are also equipped with a metal plate (thaler) with a printing plate. The printing speed is about 1000-3500 cycles per 1 hour.
  2. Flat-plate printing – with a flat form and a printing cylinder, which presses the paper. Such devices make embossing on prints, as well as die-cutting on labels and die-cuts. They are practically not used in printing as such.
  3. Rotary are equipped with a plate cylinder that presses the paper and creates printing pressure. Modern offset printing machines, which are the most common, also belong to this type.
  4. Digital – modern models, the design and operating principle of which resemble laser printers.

Classification of printing machines

It should be noted that rotary types of printing presses are divided into roll (paper is fed from a roll) and sheet-fed (sheets are fed). In turn, roll devices are divided into newspaper and book-magazine machines.

Other classifications

There are other signs that distinguish several groups of printing machines:

  1. Type of product – models of universal and specialized types (the latter can only print a newspaper, magazine, or print on textiles, for example, on clothing).
  2. Weight – light or heavy. The latter are more stable and large-sized, dampen vibration well, and therefore provide high-quality images. Lightweight color digital printers are easier to transport and can be mounted on virtually any foundation.
  3. Number of colors: one-, two- and multi-color devices. The former are used for quick printing of inexpensive products, the latter are used in small printing houses, for example, for printing newspapers with black and red letters. Multicolor is used for the production of high quality color products.
  4. Types of sections – drying, varnishing, laminating, cutting. Additional equipment for cutting and embossing can be installed.
  5. Structure – linear, tower (tiered), planetary, carousel.
  6. There is also a type of printing machine that allows you to print on both sides or on one side. But there are also combined models that can work in both modes.
  7. Another classification of printing machines is related to the print format. It can be small, medium, full or large. Devices with large-format printing are also common, on which you can use paper 1.4-2 m or more in length.
  8. Finally, the type of printing is also important - it can be intaglio, screen, offset and letterpress (typographical).

Photo printing machines

When choosing a printing machine, first of all you need to take into account the characteristics of the product. For typical leaflets and brochures, inexpensive devices with small format printing in 1 or 2 colors are suitable. But if you plan to produce high-quality products, you should opt for professional heavy machines that can work in different formats and provide high-quality printing.
