Oven dimensions and dimensions
A full-size oven can have a volume from 56 to 74 liters, while small ones with a capacity of 27 to 42 liters fit into the compact category. Drawing an analogy with refrigerators, one could say that “the more, the better.” analogues that take up more space due to the reduction in cooking time.

Dimensions of built-in ovens
When selecting kitchen equipment, attention is paid to culinary preferences and family size. In second place is the size of the kitchen itself. This order is due to the limited functionality of ovens depending on their size.
IMPORTANT! With the same external dimensions, it is often more profitable to opt for a built-in electric oven. The reason is that the gas version, even if its cost is commensurate, has fewer functions, which are usually limited to 5-6 operating modes.
Standard dimensions
The time-tested classic is a cabinet, the height and width of the front part of which is 60 cm, and the depth is 55 cm. These are the dimensions of the outside of the oven. Inside, depending on the number of built-in options, it can be significantly less. The internal “useful” height of such an oven rarely exceeds 56 cm. The same applies to other parameters.
Custom cabinets
It is not uncommon to find ovens in which one of the dimensional parameters has been changed up or down. The most notable variety are models with an additional oven: two combined different-sized compartments, where the main working compartment is adjacent to a smaller auxiliary one. A vertical arrangement is more common, due to which the cabinets reach a height of 90 cm.
Non-standard ovens also include almost all ovens with microwaves. With the usual width, they are distinguished by their low height, ranging from 36 to 55 cm.
Narrow and wide
The height of a wide oven can vary from 48 to 60 cm.
For a large baking-loving family with limited space, it is better to choose a wide oven. This option will allow you to prepare a larger number of servings in a shorter period of time.
This parameter also affects the manufacturer’s capabilities: a built-in electric oven 90 cm wide can have up to 12 operating modes. But such a stove is usually located below, under the hob, which is not always convenient.
A more comfortable location is at the level of the stove or slightly higher. Thanks to placement at this height, it is easier to control the degree of readiness of dishes or clean the oven. But a pencil case for built-in equipment of this width will take up too much space. Manufacturers took this point into account and released narrow, from 45 cm, models of standard height. The only drawback of such options is that if you need to prepare a large amount of baked goods, they often have to be placed in several tiers. And this affects the speed and quality of baking.
If baked goods are a rare guest on the table, then the small width of the oven will not cause significant discomfort due to the small number of servings or the increased cooking time.
Depth dimensions
The standard depth of the kitchen work surface, under which the oven is usually built, is 60 cm. This parameter is not accidental and is the result of numerous studies that have shown that such a table allows the chef to freely place the ingredients and kitchen appliances necessary for cooking. Therefore, manufacturers rarely experiment with oven depth. Compact models with a depth of 45 cm, designed for installation “at height” exist. But they are so unpopular and impractical that in search of such an oven you have to visit more than one point of sale.
Dad gave mom a new oven from the Indesit brand. Mom was delighted. It reaches the set temperature quickly and bakes great! The pies and meat all turn out great!
