We select staples for a stapler among many types and sizes

Staples for staplers can be of different types. They also differ in size - when purchasing, pay attention to height, thickness and width. Staples for staplers, the dimensions of which are described in the article, are used in various fields from office work to furniture assembly and construction.

Types of staples

There are several types of staples depending on their shape:

  1. U-shaped - they are most common.
  2. U-shaped - used to fix the cable.
  3. T-shaped - represented by pins and nails.

To correctly select the appropriate fastener, you need to evaluate its dimensions - width b, height h and thickness a, as shown in the figure.

According to this classification, several varieties are distinguished. So, bracket type 51 has the following parameters:

  • a = 1 mm;
  • b = 10 mm;
  • h = 6-14 mm.

It is equally important to consider the type of stapler. For example, for a 140 stapler, the type of staples should be 13, 37, 51 or 52. 54-59 and 140 are also suitable. They have a height of 6 to 14 mm.

Another classification is related to the material of manufacture. The most reliable are steel ones. Copper and aluminum will last less, but they are also more affordable. Moreover, steel ones are used for working with wooden materials. And aluminum and copper are quite suitable for fabric, cardboard, paper, that is, mainly for crafts, in the office.

Purpose of the main types of staples

Each type of bracket is designated by its own number, for example, 51 or 140. It reflects the dimensions of the fastening element, as well as its purpose:

  1. To work with canvas, fabrics, and upholstery, type 53 is used. They reach 11.4 mm in width and 0.75 mm in thickness. The legs are quite thin, so they do not damage even thin fabric.
  2. To work with delicate material that will not be subject to stress, you can use type 13. The fastener is thin, 0.75 mm thick, and also reaches 11.4 mm in width.
  3. For fastening textiles, several sheets of paper, wire mesh, cardboard, type 53E is used. They are 11.4 mm wide and 1.25 mm thick.
