What is a bactericidal emitter Crystal. An emitter is a sanitary device for sterilizing a room as a whole and/or its air by exposing objects to ultraviolet light. The microorganisms eliminated by the Crystal include bacteria, viruses, fungi, their spores, and fungal mold. There are irradiators, and there are Crystal recirculators. The latter are engaged in cleaning air flows - they drive a portion of air into a special container, there it is exposed to an ultraviolet lamp, after which it is blown out from the other side (in some models there is an additional filter at the outlet). Irradiators, in turn, do not have a separate container - the UV lamp shines directly on objects in the room. Irradiators are called open-type models, and it’s already clear why. Recirculators are closed type devices.

Irradiators are used to reduce infectious diseases in medical institutions, offices and other public spaces. Sometimes you can find irradiators/recirculators used at home. In any case, their main element is a bactericidal lamp. The lamp contains mercury and must be handled with care. Crystal irradiators can also be used as lamps, which allows them to be daylight class lamps.

The device purchased from an official supplier includes:

  • Illuminator cartridge/stand (1 pc.)
  • Ultraviolet germicidal lamp (1 pc.)
  • Packaging (1 pc.)
  • Passport and instructions (1 pc.)

Crystal irradiator warranty. The manufacturer of the irradiators Crystal guarantees the proper operation of the device for two years, starting from the date of purchase of the device, only if the user complies with all rules for the use and storage of the unit. If your device has suffered mechanical damage, it is not covered by the warranty.

If the device passport does not contain the date of sale/seal of the selling company, the warranty period is considered from the date of manufacture.

If a breakdown/malfunction of the irradiator occurs, the manufacturer provides free repair or replacement of the device. To do this, contact official service centers.

Guaranteed repair/replacement can only be obtained with a real device passport.

The principle of operation of the bactericidal emitter Crystal. The basic operating principle of the irradiator and recirculator is similar, but there are differences.

The principle of operation of the open-type emitter: it is installed in the center of the room and irradiates the room, air and objects with a relatively powerful ultraviolet glow. All the work falls on the UV lamp - it kills microorganisms in the room with its light. The more powerful the irradiator lamp, the less time the sterilization process takes. But during sterilization with such a device, there should be no people in the room. Irradiators with low-power ultraviolet lamps can be used as a lamp.

The principle of operation of a closed-type emitter (recirculator): at one end of the recirculator there is a small fan; it blows a portion of air from the room into the device. The air is in a special container where it is exposed to an ultraviolet lamp. The walls of the container are made of special plastic, which reflects almost all UV light. The air is exposed to the maximum amount of ultraviolet radiation - 95% of all bacteria, viruses and spores are eliminated from the air flow. After cleaning, a portion of air comes out of the other side of the recirculator. A filter is installed at the end of some models for additional air purification. Such devices can be used even when people are indoors. Not harmful to health.

Tips on how to use the Crystal recirculator/emitter.

To begin with, when you take out the lamp during unpacking, wipe it with a dry napkin/rag. The UV lamp must be handled with extreme care as it contains mercury. You only need to insert/remove the lamp from the socket by holding it by the base.

Use the following table to determine the appropriate time to sterilize a room with an open irradiator for a specific type of microorganism:

MicroorganismHow much do you need to irradiate?
Staphylococcus aureus2 hours
Diphtheria, Escherichia coli1 hour 20 minutes
Sarcina (yellow)7 hours 40 minutes
Bacillus (pseudomonas aeruginosa)2 hours 5 minutes
Flu (virus)1 hour 25 minutes
Mold, spores, mushrooms9 hours 25 minutes

We remind you that no one should be in the room during sterilization, including animals and plants.

Requirements for the use of the bactericidal emitter Crystal. Irradiator models vary, so the main thing is to always follow the instructions/requirements of the device passport. Among the main safety points when using the irradiator are the following:

  • If the ultraviolet lamp breaks, it is necessary, if possible, to collect the mercury using a rubber bulb. Do not handle mercury with bare hands; use rubber gloves. After collection, you need to wash the area where the lamp broke.Use a solution of potassium permanganate (1%) and a sponge/rag. Carry out all operations wearing rubber gloves. Breathing above mercury vapor is also dangerous - if you don’t have a protective mask, cover your mouth and nose with a rag. The main thing you must do is call the rescue service.
  • While the irradiator (an open-type device) is operating, there should be no people, animals or plants in the room being disinfected - the glow emitted by the lamp is dangerous for living organisms. People may experience complications or develop malignant pathologies. Animals have a similar situation. Plants will simply die if exposed to such powerful ultraviolet radiation for a long time.
  • Upon completion of sterilization of the room, the manufacturer recommends ventilating it.
  • It is prohibited to repair/replace the ultraviolet lamp in an irradiator connected to the power supply.
  • Do not use the device with faulty wire insulation.
  • Recirculators (closed models) can be used even if there are people, animals or plants in the room.
  • There is no need to ventilate the premises after using the recirculator.
