How to start a gas cutter: principle of operation and features of operation during construction work

A petrol cutter is a tool for cutting metals. Usually runs on gasoline or electricity. The motor transmits an impulse through a drive to a cutting blade (usually diamond-coated). To make high-quality cuts, you need to know how to start the Shtil gas cutter and what its operating principle is based on, which is described in detail in the article.

How to start a gas cutter: step-by-step instructions

In order for cutting concrete with a chainsaw to be successful, it is necessary to start the gas cutter correctly. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the button below.1
  2. Move the fork down.2
  3. Pull the cord forcefully several times.3
  4. Once the engine has started, start cutting.4

Design and principle of operation

To work with the device professionally, you need to understand the structure of the gas cutter. The mechanism consists of several elements, the main ones being:

  • cutting element - it can be a diamond disk or ring, an abrasive disk or a diamond chain;
  • high torque drive;
  • clamps and switches;
  • pen;
  • casing

The principle of operation of a gas cutter for metal is associated with the operation of the engine, which transmits energy to the drive. He, in turn, imparts torque to the cutting headset, which develops the necessary power and carries out cutting.

Different models are used as an engine:

  • two-stroke on gasoline and oil – very powerful, but at the same time noisy and produces emissions, weight and dimensions are small;
  • electric – optimally suited for enclosed spaces, not very powerful, but works with little noise and no emissions;
  • rechargeable – can be used for devices with a disk diameter within 230 mm;
  • pneumatic – works only if there is a compressor that supplies compressed air.

The engine is mounted on the frame, not directly, but through shock-absorbing pads. They dampen vibration, making the device easier to operate.

Cutting metal with a gasoline cutter can be of 2 types:

  1. Wet – the disk is cooled with water, supplied from an external source. Thanks to this, there is no rapid overheating, and you can work on such equipment noticeably longer. Another plus is that water prevents dust from entering, so diamond-coated discs will last longer.
  2. Dry – in this case, the disk is cooled only by air flow. And if the abrasive tool works normally, then diamond-coated discs should be used for a maximum of a minute. Then give it 20 seconds to cool.

Additional options

Modern gas cutters have several additional options that improve their performance and extend their service life:

  1. Easy engine starting.
  2. Double or triple motor filtration for dust protection.
  3. Possibility of installation on a trolley to form a seam cutter.
  4. Guards that protect the operator and the diamond blade during operation.
  5. Special attachment for fixing to the rail. As a result, it is possible to temporarily construct a unit such as a rail cutter.

The rules for working with a cutter are quite simple. You need to connect the device to the network or fill it with gasoline.Then press the button, move the regulator to the lower position and start the engine. It is important to follow safety precautions and work with gasoline devices only outdoors.
