In our short article we will tell you how to properly use a container for preparing a fuel mixture so as to preserve the maximum amount of components, get high-quality fuel for a chainsaw, lawn mowers, and not overdo it with oil.

What fuel mixture is needed for a two-stroke engine?

For this type of engine, a solution based on high-quality gasoline and special oil is suitable.

The choice of oil is in favor of what the manufacturer recommends in the instructions. If this is not the case, we can make do with any option for a two-stroke engine. The main thing is that it is of high quality and not cheap, since inexpensive options will only ruin the instrument and will not bring the desired result.

You need to look for oil in the store with the 2T symbol. It is indicated directly on the label - you can’t go wrong. You can ask the sellers at the point of sale, they will always help. We will mix our gasoline for the fuel solution with it.

The optimal ratio, as a rule, is 50 parts to 1. That is, for 50 ml of gasoline you need to add only 1 ml of the oil mixture. On the oil box, the value is either duplicated or written separately as a percentage. A good oil has a solution value of 2%.

How to properly stir oil in a container

Most people, especially beginners, are constantly confused: “how much is 50:1 per liter of gasoline; how much is it in ml for oil and other points.” Everything couldn’t be simpler here: if you notice the indicator on the can is 50:1, then 5 liters of fuel require 100 grams of oil. Per liter – 20 grams.

Regarding the percentage, 2% corresponds to 20 milliliters per liter of fuel. If a different value had been specified, for example 3%, it would have been necessary to add 30 ml, etc.

So, what do we need for the correct procedure:

  • plastic funnel;
  • a medical syringe for 20 cubic meters or a measuring cap (can be included with a bottle of oil);
  • container for preparing the fuel mixture - with special marks;
  • petrol;
  • oil 2T.

If you don’t have a plastic container with notches, you can use any container. For example, a bottle of antifreeze or antifreeze. Although the displacement notes definitely won’t hurt – especially for a beginner.

To fill the oil, we recommend using a syringe - it’s convenient to take half a liter or a liter of the mixture and strain it into a container.

To begin, pour the required amount of gasoline into a plastic container. There's no need to worry about it - take the regular A-92. Another octane number (80, 95, 100) can greatly harm the engine filling and quickly render it unusable.

Use a syringe to measure the amount of oil and add it to the container. For 1 liter of fuel you need only 20 grams of oil. Buy 20 cc syringes from the pharmacy right away - these are common and open for sale.

The color of 2T oil is red. This is done so as not to accidentally mix up regular gasoline and pour it into the tank for a chainsaw or scythe.After mixing, the entire mixture turns red.

Pour oil into a plastic bottle. Close the lid and shake vigorously until the oil completely colors the gasoline. The solution is ready for use.

Summary

It is worth saying that you should not prepare the mixture “in reserve” for several weeks, or even months. Manufacturers insist that there is enough fuel for 1 working cycle. Over time, the mixture deteriorates, and after pouring into the tool, the engine may suffer or may not work at all.

And also, despite the quality of the oil, do not pour it too much. Practice has shown that a large amount of the oil mixture gets into the filters, clogging them. And then the engine does not start and quickly turns off. All the channels are clogged with oil, but this should not happen.

Add as much oil to gasoline as you exactly need for your work and stick to the ratio of 50 to 1. That’s all for today! See you later and good homework!
